On the other hand, save vs death spells can be countered pretty easily with death ward. KD is a lot harder to counter, and pretty much makes you screwed against melee warriors.

Given the number of casters out there that can counter it with a quick spell, I don't see what the problem with a high DC is. If you don't like it, just boost your concentration stat in your build. Which one you go with will probably depend on your alignment, as the Dragon Knights for some alignments are better then others. The spells have been improved a fair bit, the big trick is knowing what feats to go with and what tactics to use. I really screwed up my last druid build, and you can tell that when I take him into combat. They have some of the best summons in the game, and some really sweet shapes to shift into tho...

It's a choice you have to make. Dragonshape + lvl40 caster bonuses vs whatever else. Though you can take shifter levels and keep the dragon shape.
