That is the one thing that bother me about online games. But a warrior or archer that doesn't use their distance weapons from cover is going to be overwhelmed. Many a real battle has been won because the other side couldn't reach the ones firing at them. I realize allowing it can be exploited... but...

You might try Irfanview, its a free program, to resize and change format.

I use it for my map site of my old ad&d campaign to make thumbnails.
