Re: News on Tilesets and Hak Pak
NS team... I don't post too many thoughts on these boards, but I just read the information that there is going to be a Hak Pak needed for this NS realm. I want to first say, Dev's you have done a tremendous job without a Hak Pak and it has been awesome. The realm is awesome. I can only imagine what...

Re: What would recomend for a caster cleric?
My pure level 40 cleric has all the spell pen's and is Epic and Evo. I think it even has Hellball... but could live without it.Nifoyg wrote: I'm going to be building a true caster only build,

The best solution would be to tone down gear, or weapons at any rate, that are DEX based, cause the finesse weapons with the insane crit range is what makes a STR toon vastly inferior to a DEX build. The AC or soak is secondary. Not feasible due to the fact of all the dex based tritons out there. G...

Try this out and see how they would effect the different areas of the module. If they are too powerful, tone them down, if they are not enough, beef them up. Well from a devs perspective you can always go up, but, it's like pulling teeth to come down. Add 2D6 or so worth of damage to a one haded ST...

My ultimate solution to the debate: Just add more damage to the non-finesse weapons. Up all the dice classes by one (Ex. d6 goes to d8) and on the really big ones, all the 2-handers, max out the dice, I.E. d12. As it stands, even among Str builds, there is no reason to use any of the 2-handed weapo...

Are these things reflected in the game? Not terribly well. It's a game. It's not even a terribly good simulation of actual hand to hand combat. Are strength vs dex toons broken? Absolutely. But don't nerf dex toons damage - a well trained person could do as much damage with a light weapon as a dwar...

I would suggest increasing the soak of heavy plates instead of taking it off robes and such...just got back from Starfall with my 101 AC bard and if my soak is any lower, I would have been in some real trouble. (Unless I am mistaken and the creature weapons down there are more than +6, in which cas...

Yep. Maybe one first. To finally balance it however you will really need to do both. You made a great point using the golf analogy. If the STR guy ever does get it right he hits it a lot father than the Dex'er though. :P Daly comes to mind. lol The triton Strength based weapons should still do more ...

I agree. Finesse equalizes brute strength. Where finesse builds have an advantage is with concealment. Sure, plated characters should have a higher AC. Don't nerf our weapons though. Boo. We dexers typically have lower hp. There's a balance there. Want a str build to be interesting again? Bring bac...

If you were to adjust the finesse weapons then it would more correctly reflect what a strength fighter is suppose to mean to a combat situation over a Dex fighter. Not sure it lays in the armor itself so much because Dex fighters should be hard to hit. That is their benifit. Strength fighters shoul...

The flaw in that is that a str build can use a finess wep just as easily as a Dexer. As far as a str build is concerned, a Triton hand axe and a Triton Dwaven war axe are basicaly the exact same wepon. That is correct. By lowering the Finesse Weapons damage though a STR build will use that Dwarven ...

I have a few STR builds but mostly play casters and dex'ers. All my primary melee toons are Dex builds. It would seem to me that an easy way to address the issue would be to reduce the damage on all of the Triton Finesse weapons. If you are a STR build then you will do more damage now because of you...
