I would recommend against creating areas with a strength (or any stat) restriction to get into.

Mechanics that force apart friends partying together suck. you can accomplish the same thing with scripts/npcs/quest items/etc.

if you're playing on midwest, there's no build that the pkers will leave alone, and there's no possible defense vs pp except a good attitude towards re-eq grinding. :) none of this is a concern on the other ns servers. also I found that harms rarely land until I get about 30 levels of cleric under m...

ah, that makes sense... so, its not like I am actually adding +10 to my tumble rank. thanks... interestingly, 15 or so total skill modifier in tumble makes the mobility/spring attack feats useless. (I think it's dc 15 tumble check to avoid an attack of opportunity when moving around in combat.) I'v...

Re: Epic skill focus tumble

Does epic skill focus on tumble, with its +10 to skill, give an additional +2 to AC, if you get to 50+ ranks in it? I ask because I have never seen builds take it and thought there must be a reason, like perhaps tumble's AC bonus is capped at +8 or something and so thats why no one ever goes over 4...

i guess the least damaging change would be the suggestion to up the damage on non-finessable tritons (with an even bigger damage boost for 2handed weapons), along with the other suggestion to scatter about the lands bigger immunity / soak heavy armor. that way existing folks could go back and get an...

as i posted in another thread one way to go for triton/high end weapons is to give the extra damage dice the same die type as the base weapon. so kukri would do +2d4 positive, +2d4 magic, etc. A two handed sword would do +2d12 positive, +2d12 magic, etc. this puts all the weapons in line with the na...

Cleric Buff Test Results.

OK I did some quick testing and found the following: (test done with 23 levels of cleric + extend spell feat standing still in EC. Yes, tests need to be verified via combat window... later. trials were repeated 3 times.) Extended battletide: animation and AB listed in character sheet lasted about 4 ...

ya it's hard to beat the damage mitigation you get from "all my enemies are now dead." ;)

yeah battletide has the same problems. it spams on and off, sometimes having a party member nearby will trigger it, other times an enemy corpse, and after a while it just seems to get tired and goes away of it's own volition. I'm pretty sure it wont cross zone boundaries with you, though i could be ...

nice work nuor, however the kama 10 attacks per round needs flurry of blows which drops a -2 ab on all kama attacks. I'll have to check the numbers again later. Yeah sorry, I may have screwed up elsewhere also it was mostly to demonstrate the concept. I'll try to edit sometime soon. Basically it wo...

i was also little thrown by cryodog's statement that a lvl 30 cleric with max spellcraft could not be dispelled. I looked through the rules and I dont see anything that associates spellcraft with dispel. unless all the dispel effects in the game were recoded to take that skill nto account (if anyone...

Re: What's the deal with Kukri ' s?

the other reason to take kukris over rapiers even for normal-sized folk is because you can dual wield them and take only a -2 penalty. so you get the insane crit range and the same damage but essentially +2 to hit for taking an exotic feat. to put it into perspective, if there was, say, "improved ep...

With great wis 10 you're likely going to have more AC if you take monk and ditch the shield. You miss out on the shield's damage soak of course, but personally I prefer the AC. Also, you might want to consider dropping 2 great wis for greater ruin + hellball. One higher DC on your spells vs. about ...
