Rocco: You missed my point again. I was not arguing for making more items no-drop anymore. What I was wondering about was why certain items are no-drop AND level-restricted. I still have some questions about the matter. With regard to munchkinism, I was referring to those who ONLY want to get a leve...

Disclaimer: I'm only speaking from experience from pen-and-paper (PnP) games, here. It's almost impossible and definitely never worth the effort to try to force players to play a game world a certain way. They'll resent being tied to a "script," and you'll drive yourself nuts trying to keep things o...

Okay, that clarifies the situation somewhat. I suppose I didn't regard tritons and the EC pass as "quest" items, because there's no way to find out about those "quests" until you actually arrive in EC. The no-drop restriction on other quest-related, consumable items, such as the elemental runes stil...

Rocco: I think you may have misunderstood my question a bit. I was curious why certain items should have both level and no-drop restrictions. Level restrictions alone would keep gear deemed too powerful out of the hands of new toons. As far as exploring the mod goes, yes, I've visited all the areas ...

Alright, but I'm still a bit confused why certain items should be level-restricted and no-drop. Triton weapons, EC passes, and the silver mithril armor spring to mind. Using Iris' line of reasoning, why should I have to take each and every level 25 toon to get its own triton? That's a hassle, too, a...

The 54DC on an Implosion is nice, but I belive there are lots of things out there with tougher saves than Elvira's furniture. In my limited experience, the various Spell Penetration feats are worthwhile to get past mobs' spell resistance, but you should never count on them blowing a save, even with ...

Level restriction tags on equipment
Hi, just got another quick question. Would it be possible to add descriptive text to level-restricted items to let you know what level your toon must be in order to use those items? Most veteran players already know, but labels like that could help out new folks, especially as new areas and drops ge...

Okay, from what I can tell, the Destruction domain is a wash. I levelled up a cleric toon to 11 and took it to the Isle of Dreams. Turning attempts had no effect on the constructs there at all, even the "standard" clay and iron golems. My adjusted charisma at that time was 22, and it's possible thos...

Thanks for the reply, ShadowKeeper. Ok, then, I'll be the guinea pig. I was thinking it would be most useful in Starfall, if the mobs there are constructs. From what I've read, Destruction domain clerics damage constructs with their turning instead of making them flee. The NWN wiki reference listed ...
