Re: That time of year again, again
There is an up and comer that I am keeping my eye on as well. Lemur Linux is getting a rebase to Arch with some new user tools as well. Look for a public/testing release in the near future.

Okay I have figured out how to harden the wiki. However the connection I have where I am staying while in the states can only handle light web browsing and an IRC connection, so I'll extend my return for a bit and handle all the big changes when I get back to Alaska. Just letting you all know that t...

Temporary Return
I have been asked to step back in and help out with a few issues in the back end of things. The big news on that is a general warning that the website may be going up and down occasionally over the next two weeks depending on the extent of the work needing to be done. In the mean time, its really go...

Social Fallacies
I realize that I stepped away from this merry band of pirates a little while ago, however when I ran across this the first thing I thought of was you folks here. Five Geek Social Fallacies BTW if you think that some of this might be directed specifically at you ... you just might want to take a good...

Stepping Down.
My personal life has taken an interesting turn, such that I will no longer be able to even play for atleast some time to come. Dont let any rumors start, there has been no issue with myself or the DM team. I find that my family needs me at this point and time in such a fashion that precludes any gam...

the /boot/grub/menu.lst as far as I know will only allow you to pass the argument to go into single (rescue) user mode. Not to mention, messing with that file and not knowing exactly what your doing can turn your system into an unbootable boat anchor. It is recoverable, but a serious pain in the bac...

For most distro's those answers would have been perfect, Ubuntu however switched to a boot system called Upstart (It sucks IMHO). It is an event based init system that I have yet to figure out and the documentation for is junk. You can try asking in the Ubuntu help channel irc.freenode.net #ubuntu, ...

DM and Player interactions
Of late it has become too often of an occurance where the players feel justified in telling various members of the DM team the rules, and how they should be interperated. The DM in game at the time is ABSOLUTE law. If there is a problem then take it up privately with Fire, Netrom, Yonwe, or Myself. ...
