The broken rogue UMD thing is NS4 scripting. A PC with 1 lvl of cleric able to use a summon IX spell is Biocode.

In PnP using a scroll like that requires a caster level check. d20+caster level=caster level required to cast spell (in this case 17) then spell goes off. If not it fails. Scroll isn't used up unless it goes off or you roll a 1 on caster check in which case something bad happens. It would be cool if...

Already tried bouncing thru servers will try that again after reboot.

adding that I am now affected by the black screen bug. Can this bug be fixed or did I just lose an almost 15th lvl character? I am in loading right now but unfortunately I can't see any messages.

Before I went blind I saw a few more ppl get stuck there.

The transitions in Avendell are messed up, going into a shop ports you to server 3 then bounces you back until you get stuck in loading. tried logging into a different server already but it drops you back in loading. Tonight we had a party of 4 14-16 chars. 3 fighter types and a cleric. We got jumped by Axon. Tried to get to her but the wail went off. 4 dead PC's. I have a modified 24 Con at level 14 with a couple of classes that have good fort saves. I think I need to roll a 19 or so to save. Even at 20th Axon ...

Man I hate that spell. I've seen what it can do on other servers.

Most likely it's that you are either too low or too high for the person to party with you. I'm not sure of the numbers but XP penalties get really horrendous when you are more than 2 or 3 levels away.

Some people have problems escaping a combat that opens with having to make DC 35 fort save...

I have noticed the pathfinding AI to be weak for all summons, or at least I,II and III for LG.

It's a bug. I was killed in Melencia yesterday by some high level druid bully and when I respawned back to LA I had no inventory. I lost my journal and Drow special Item, both of which can't be replaced.

I know a few other folks who also lost gear yesterday.

And yes, I reported it to a DM.
