Thanks folks. I'm liking how balanced it seems and I know some of the long time players here, so that will help. I'm starting out with a Paladin because I have never made a DragonKnight (I think, the new PreClass) so I want to try that out.

I am trying to avoid making 3 or 4 characters before I get the hang of this place. The things I'm trying to find out is what kind of items, restrictions, etc I can expect to find here and what kind of classes are acceptable in each faction. Have you tried cleaning the disk thoroughly? I know it sounds stupid, but I had the same problem at one point during a re-install and the disk has some smudges on it....wiped them and it installed no problem. I do recommend you uninstall everything, then re-install and update after all the disks are...

You can also download the entire set from Direct2Drive for a little over $50. That's not too bad of a deal, really.
