Re: debate on PvP and PvM
This build certainly can solo Succubus. I've spent months doing it. Was it worth it? Nope. PS: You need to get the right mobs to spawn with them. how can you get 53 will without any buff? Succubus can charm you , DC =41~50. You cant. A few things: * Avoid their gaze attack. You can tell when its go...

Re: Fighter AC Suggestion
Grats on writing a wall of disjointed text to wrap up with what I wrote at the start. Str Pure fighters are good at party defense and not much else.

Re: Fighter AC Suggestion
An Hogre STR based pure fighter is awesome in party PVP, especially defense. Not so great at PVM. Most builds will run from you if they know your token has not yet been used and the rumble token is up there with hellball as one of the best ways to stop 99% of builds. Once your token is used and the ...

Re: NS4 going PvM only?
he finally hits the 3rd screen (or however many) and gets to say "YOU HAVE TO STOP CHASING ME BECAUSE YOURE NOW RAIDING"(considering that those players had previously raided If it's been under 30 mins since you logged your raider then yes, you need to swap back to that same toon or wait 30 mins. Re: NS4 going PvM only?
I don't have a problem with dual logging in PVM, but in PVP it can be unfair. To list a few things: * Covering more than one point on a map * Buffing others to cover a builds weakness, ie. Spot (the most abused one), saves, etc. * Using a spotter to direct your own toons * Using a disabler (turn, st...

Re: Hellball crash
wine-1.5.17
no directx installed that I can recall. I've set sound to emulation so see how that goes.
I dont recall ever having crash issues as bad as this before - at least not with Wine + Linux.

Hellball crash
Is there a way to prevent / minimise the game crashing when a hellball goes off?
It happens to me 50% of the time. Running NWN under Wine in Linux.

Denoting unique drops
I've noticed that other servers are able to highlight special drops by placing a column of light over the remains - no haks required. Would you consider doing the same here for drops containing unique items?

Re: Problem with Attack of Opportunity
I'm sure all players think it's a great idea, however as the gods enjoy watching mortals struggle over the minutia of the game, dont be suprised if anything that lessens their lolz is ignored.Frendel wrote:Does no one think that it would be a helpful improvement to the game

You forgot "running the relic, but had to stop as the vermin moving past must die"
Unwanted AoO's are right up there with the classic kd/stun on a friendly after targeting an enemy and the enemy moving out of mele range.
Just another of the annoying 'features' of the game.

Re: Choices!
Does it still crash on hellball in wine? Yes, but crashes in general happen way less in wine compared to windows. The Linux native version still crashes randomly , hellball or otherwise. You can run both wine and native on the same box to dual, so its easy to set up both and see which ones works fo...

Re: Choices!
I run both wine and native clients and prefer wine:
* easier to patch the exe for camera hacks, etc
* Alt - enter just works
* frame rate of an equivalent - maybe slightly faster in wine
* Straight copy from your existing windows install - no Linux patches required
